THE BED

Picture
The bed is supported and protected by a tubular frame/chassis that incorporates over 65 feet of 2" x 2" steel square tubing of thicknesses ranging from the 1/4" wall tongue to the 14 Gauge uprights.

BED LIDS

Picture
The all-aluminum Bed Lids are formed with a center “gutter” that, combined with foam seals front and rear, provides a weatherproof seal.

"Jeep Style" latches Secure the Lids Front and Rear while traveling.  A simple padlock on each end of the lids will deter the casual thief.

We use high strength aluminum and and steel turnbuckles with quick clips to support the Bed Lids when open.  They are simple, strong and allow the door's angle to be adjusted if the trailer is parked on a side slope.

The bed of the Morris Mule measures 38.5 inches wide, 58 inches long and 18 inches deep providing just over 23 cubic feet of cargo capacity.  It is formed of 16 Gauge and welded to the frame at over 100 points.

Once at Camp the top lids fold out and become counter tops as quick as you can open the doors and clip on the adjustable supports.

When opened and secured, each Bed Lid provides a little over eight and a half square feet of counter top space.

Chain extenders are used with the High Rack.

FRONT CARGO AREA

The External cargo hold allows for out of bed storage and features almost limitless tie-down possibilities.  Five steel "U" shaped tie-downs are accessible as well as 14 hook points along the front skirts and hook bars on the front of the bed.

TAILGATE

Picture
The tailgate is an all aluminum design with 1/8 inch thick aluminum skins supported by a tubular internal frame.  It is secured with aluminum and stainless steel latches at the top and 4 inch heavy-duty steel hinges at the bottom.  It also features a lighted tag holder.

STABILIZER LEGS

Picture
Rear stabilizer legs support the rear of the trailer when unhooked from the vehicle to prevent tipping and allow tire changes without the need of a jack.

LIGHTS

Picture
Rear lights are LEDs protected in enclosed steel boxes and wiring is protected by welded steel light tubes.

TIE-DOWNS

Picture
Eighteen steel loop tie-downs are welded from front to rear of each Morris Mule providing secure tie-down points all over the trailer.

RACK SYSTEM

Picture
The High Rack.  The two position Morris Mule Rack system allows canoes and kayaks to be carried high where the top-doors can still be opened with the load on the racks.

Picture
The Trail Grade Mule has the same style External Cargo Hold however 4 inches of length has been added to allow for more gear capacity.

Picture
When open, the tailgate is supported by removable chains.  It is an old fashioned set-up but is simple, durable and will last just about forever.  We run the chains through clear plastic tubing to decrease noise and protect the bed's paint.

Picture
Legs can be pinned in the "up" position for travel or can easily be removed.

Side Marker lights are also LED.

There are five steel loop tie-downs on each side, three in the rear and five in the front.

By changing to the short uprights and removing the aluminum stabilizer bars the rack can be setup in the low mode, allowing cargo to be loaded just above the trailer.  In this mode the load must be removed to open the Bed Lids.

The fixed uprights on the end of the rack's top bars protects heavy loads from shifting.
